The Chicago Human Rhythm Project will highlight it’s local percussive dance community in April and May 2016 with the 2nd Annual STOMPING GROUNDS Series, which will culminate at the Auditorium Theatre with the grand finale, Chicago Rhythm Fest, on June 4, 2016.
Presenting African, Irish, Mexican, Spanish, Japanese and American cultural traditions, STOMPING GROUNDS is a multi-performance event in celebration of the rhythmic arts. All events are free and open to the public.
The climax, Chicago Rhythm Fest, showcases the same five percussive dance companies that were assisting in STOMPING GROUNDS classes – BAM!, Ensemble Español, Mexican Folkloric Dance, Muntu Dance and Trinity Irish Dance.
